Are
the cars right hand drive?
- Yes. We only import original right hand drive cars. We also
export left hand drive vehicles.
What about servicing and parts?
- We guarantee the availability of parts and service for as
long as you own the vehicle, alternatively parts and service are now
available from most franchised outlets or VAT registered garages.
Are there service history with the cars?
- Most of our cars do come with a service history. Although, the
alphabet may be in Japanese, the numbers (i.e kilometres and dates) are
in English and there are pictures illustrating what has been serviced.
Do the cars have a Warranty?
- Yes. Up to three year warranties are available covering the UK and
Europe.
Are the cars to UK specifications?
- Every car we import (under 10 years old) has to pass an SVA (Single
Vehicle Approval) test. This is carried out by the Department of
Transport, and a certificate is issued to show that the car meets all of
the Department of Transport requirements including fog lights and MPH
speedometers with the odometer set to the correct miles as opposed to
kilometres.
How do Imports compare to the UK supplied
equivalent?
- Having imported thousands of vehicles, our opinion is that imports
tend to be lower mileage, higher specification and better condition. In
Japan, for example, salt is not used on the roads hence rust or
corrosion on the vehicles is very unlikely. Similarly in Japan 4X4's and
pickups are not normally used commercially or off road but instead for
leisure and city use, therefore there is significantly less wear and
tear. Hence an 8-year-old pickup or 4X4 can look as if it is not long
out of the showroom.
How do I know the car I am buying has not been
stolen overseas, has outstanding finance, or has been in a serious
accident?
- Naturally we check each car ourselves, in addition all our cars carry
a 100% money back
Guarantee/Indemnity against previous theft, serious accidents, or
outstanding finance in a foreign country or in the UK. Each car is also
checked by the Department of Transport, DVLA and Interpol before it is
registered. We have complete legal title to all the cars we offer for
sale.
Any further checks by the AA, RAC or the police are of course most
welcome.
What about Insurance?
- Most insurance companies now cover imports. However,
premiums can vary hugely depending on which company you use. In order to
obtain the best quote ask us for our list of specialist
brokers/insurance companies.
Do they come with alarms/immobilisers?
- There is little need for alarms in Japan so normally the
cars come without. We can have them fitted economically if required,
e.g. Category 2 immobiliser £75 or Category 1 alarm/immobiliser £245.
Are the cars undersealed?
- As salt is not used on the roads for example in Japan, even
cars which are 10 years old can have no rust or corrosion. Most are
undersealed to the same standard as the lower UK spec models. For the
few which would benefit from further undersealing we can arrange it for
around £80 +Vat per vehicle.
Which type of registration plate will the car
have?
- We register all our cars at DVLA in Edinburgh and each car
comes with a normal British age related registration number. Private
registration numbers can be transferred if required.
Can you arrange finance?
- Yes. We can arrange competitive finance once you have
decided which vehicle you are interested in.
Do you accept trade-ins?
- Yes. We accept cars, 4X4's, pickups, commercial vehicles,
or motorcycles as trade-ins. To value your trade-in please choose which
vehicle you are interested in purchasing and bring your car for us to
see. Regrettably we cannot value your trade in without seeing it.
